An opportunity is a chance to receive something or to do something.

 An opportunity is normally always positive and makes a positive impact in a person’s life. The main group of people who use this term is illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants come to different countries to get what they cannot get at their own countries. Whether it’s jobs, higher income , education’s, freedom and more. The possibilities are endless. It could be for their own self benefits or dreams or their families. We live right next to the border where we see Mexican people cross the border illegally a lot. Mexicans typically find it that the U.S offers much more than Mexico. The U.S does offer a lot help for them. For example DACA(Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). DACA is an opportunity for children. It is a temporary “visa” to avoid deportation for a two-year period subject to renewal. Many kids have got the chance to go to school here and learn many different things that Mexico could not offer for them. As for adults they can apply to get their green card. The green card helps the immigrant become a citizen. Although it does take some time to fully process but people get to stay here with their families. What the term “opportunity” means to me is a chance. A chance to be better or better your life or an opportunity to do something good. I think this word resonates with an illegal immigrant because it’s an escape from the life they do not want. I think when given the chance, to take it and definitely take advantage of it because nothing hurts trying. Always do what is best for you future. Illegal immigrants are brave, whether it’s wrong or right they take the opportunity.
