Hard Labor, Easy Exploitation – By Jazmin Ibarra

Following World War II, Coachella growers were very happy with the Bracero program.  It was easy to recruit cheap labor from Mexico.  Workers would be forced to work 12-15 hours days with out rights or protection.  Most of them did not speak or write English, so how could they complain.  And for the ones that did?  Well, the growers would just send their ass back to Mexico.  Jaszmin's research paper on the Bracero program integrated important resources into the discussion – her family.
