Kafkaesque

Feliz Ano! This week I begin Winter Intersession. I’m assigning class blogs to each of my students. This is what I’m going to tell them: Franz Kafka was big on keeping up with daily journal entries. He was relentless in writing about his sadness, anxiety and disappointment with life. It’s all he really had for himself, he once said. At the end of the day (or night), he was often able to convert these very thoughts and feelings into great literature. In fact, one his journal entries inspired his writing one of the greatest novels in literary history.

Below I share my most recent blog post/journal entry. I try to combine my own personal experience with my reading of The Trial:
