I just read somewhere of Ana Castillo’s daily writing rituals. She’s been writing for some 40 odd years, and every time she sits down to write she feels she doesn’t know what the hell she is doing. I read somewhere when Sandra Cisneros shared some of her stories that she was writing for House on Mango Street to her University of Iowa writers workshop, they told her she didn’t know what the hell she was doing. Today, I’m writing about what I read. I don’t care what other people think. I just got to get my thoughts down on paper, and I’ll worry about revising it later. It worked for Ana and Sandra. Both of them turned out OK.
