Phantom Father

Once or twice a semester, I ask my students to dig into their pasts and pull up an interesting reading experience to share with the rest of the class on our discussion board.   Sometimes it’s like squeezing blood out of a turnip. Most of everything and anything they’ve read has been forced upon them.  I can understand their reluctance for this assignment.  I’m right there with them.  Anytime I’m asked to answer questions at the back of a chapter, the reading ceases to be interesting, whether I liked it or not…
