“Torn Apart and Put Together Again,” by Cecelia De La Torre

In her mental health research paper, Cecilia wrote of the inner turmoil of artist/genius Vincent Van Gogh. In his mid-thirties, Vincent swayed back and forth between boundless energy and crippling lethargy.  When he was on, there may have been no one better. In her essay, Cecilia was able to describe the brilliance of his masterpiece Starry Night, and she was also able to show the darkness of his soul.  Here she analyzes the image of a woman suffering from manic depression.
