As I write this post, various news reports have Joni Mitchell slipping in and out of consciousness in an L.A. hospital room. How sad for her friends, family and fans. Our prayers are with her.
One of my classes is currently finishing T.C. Boyle’s The Tortilla Curtain, and they now will have to select a song to represent a character, idea, or scene from the novel. We are creating a soundtrack. Joni once said, "I am a painter who writes songs. My songs are very visual. The words create scenes…” Who better to turn to for this assignment? I’m going with her “Coyote.” We’ll capture her spirit. We Love You, Joni!
