Janis and Taylor Go for It

This week, I guide my students through MLA citations to document their research for their Sixties Comparisons.   In my case, I loved reading the book Janis Joplin: Rise Up Singing. I also read Taylor Swift: Everyday is a Fairytale.   I sent away for them on ebay.  I’m so old.  I like to read articles or chapters that I have in my hands.  I can read a part at my desk or a table; then, I could finish it later lying on the couch.  I don’t seem to have the same focus when I read online.  The information I found here was great because it got to the bottom of each singer’s soul. It gave the right amount of attention to their relationships with their family and their boyfriends. In this way, I developed a better, more personal understanding of their music.
