Tortilla Curtain MVP

It’s MVP week in my English 101 classes. We’ve just completed our Save-the-Planet argumentative research papers, and now we choose our Most Valuable Part of the novel we are reading, The Tortilla Curtain by T.C. Boyle. This is going to be cool. We’ve argued all semester about immigration policy, racism, sexism and the environment. It’s all going to come out on our class discussion board. Everyone seems to maintain a direct connection with something that happened in the story.

Here is my MVP. I’m voting for America. The men might be the loudest, but she is has the most impact. Without her, there is nothing real to believe in.
